Korea is known for its advanced non-surgical beauty treatments, and one of the most popular in 2025?
HIFU lifting.
If you're curious about what it's like to get it done in Seoul — here's my honest experience from consultation to aftercare.
What Is HIFU?
HIFU stands for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound.
It targets deep layers of your skin to stimulate collagen, tighten sagging areas, and improve elasticity — without needles or downtime.
Why I Tried It
I started noticing some sagging around my jawline and under my eyes.
Surgery felt too extreme, so HIFU seemed like the perfect middle ground.
Non-invasive, fast, and long-term benefits? I was in!
The Clinic I Chose
I visited a reputable anti-aging clinic in Apgujeong, known for its English consultations and foreigner-friendly service.
They used Ultraformer MPT, one of the newest HIFU devices.
What the Procedure Was Like
- Step 1: Skin cleansing and a short consultation
- Step 2: Numbing cream applied for about 25 minutes
- Step 3: HIFU started — about 300 shots on jawline + cheeks
- Pain? It felt like little zaps — uncomfortable at times, but not painful
- Time: Around 40 minutes total
How Much Did It Cost?
I paid 480,000 KRW (~$360 USD) for the full-face session.
This included the doctor’s consultation, numbing, and aftercare.
The Results (Honestly)
- Day 1: Slight tightness, no redness or downtime
- Day 3: Skin felt firmer, especially around jaw
- Week 2: My face looked more sculpted in selfies!
- Month 1: Subtle, but noticeable lift — and friends noticed too.
Would I Recommend It?
YES — especially if you're in your late 20s to 40s and want a preventive, non-surgical lift.
Just be sure to go to a certified clinic with up-to-date devices.
