Curious about why everyone's raving about skin boosters in Korea?
I decided to try it myself during my trip to Seoul — and here's everything you need to know before getting one.
What is a Skin Booster?
In Korea, a skin booster usually means a micro-injection of hydrating and rejuvenating ingredients like hyaluronic acid, PDRN (from salmon DNA), or vitamins directly into the skin.
It’s not a filler or botox — it’s a glow-up from the inside out.
Clinic I Visited
I chose a well-known dermatology clinic in Gangnam called ME Clinic.
Why? English consultation, clean facilities, and tons of positive reviews from other foreigners.
The Process (Step by Step)
1. Consultation – A quick chat with the doctor, who explained my skin condition and recommended Rejuran (PDRN) for my dull, dry skin.
2. Cleansing & Numbing – They removed my makeup and applied numbing cream for 30 minutes.
3. Micro-Injection – The nurse used a stamp-like device to inject the booster all over my face.
It wasn’t exactly painless, but it was tolerable.
4. Cooling Mask – I finished with a calming mask and LED therapy.
How Much Did It Cost?
About 250,000 KRW (~$190 USD).
It included consultation, treatment, and aftercare.
Pretty reasonable compared to prices back home.
My Results
- Day 1-2: Redness and tiny bumps — totally normal.
- Day 3-5: Skin felt smoother, less dry.
- Day 7: That “Korean glow” finally appeared — dewy, plump, and healthy-looking!
- Week 2: Still glowing, and my makeup sits better on my skin.
Final Thoughts
If you're visiting Korea and want to try something beyond sheet masks, skin boosters are 100% worth it.
Just be sure to book with a reputable clinic and give yourself 2–3 recovery days.
